Inflammation and Horses

Inflammation can be a scary word! It sounds hot, red, and itchy. But the reality is, inflammation can be a good thing in the right doses. Inflammation is a critical defense our bodies (and our horses’) have against infection and injury. However, when unchecked it can also lead to joint pain and stiffness, skin irrigation, and digestive discomfort.

So how do we support our horses inflammatory response? Diet!

Sugar and processed foods can trigger a systemic inflammatory response in our horses, while hay and some nutraceuticals can help regulate inflammation.

TruChia and TruTurmeric both have an incredible ability to help your horse’s body regulate inflammation in order to create balance in joints, skin and coat, and digestion.

If your horse struggles with maintaining a healthy inflammatory response, cut back on sugar and processed feeds, increase whole foods in their diet, and look to nutraceuticals for help.
